Lotar, an acronym for Lohama Neged Teror (lit. combat against terrorism), is an Israeli self defense combat system, which uses the most battle tested close quarters combat defensive techniques of the present time and integrates them into the base line techniques of the kapap and Lotar's own system.

Modern Kapap originated in Israel under the guidance of such officers as Lt. Col. Chaim Peer and Major Avi Nardia. When brought to the United States by Avi Nardia, it was with the intention of bringing both the self defense and operational close quarters combat techniques of the most elite counter terror unit in Israeli (the Yamam) to civilians, military and law enforcement agencies of the United States and the rest of the world.

The Modern Kapap-Lotar system is introduced through the first level courses to the International markets by Israeli Special Forces Instructors Albert Timen who was appointed by the Kapap Federation to certify Instructors worldwide.
