In 1993, master electrician Greg Sarangoulis saw the need for a single trade contractor that could design, install, and service ALL of the major mechanical systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC). Greg thought that the improved logistics of having one company manage all of these projects, rather than 3 or 4 companies, would lead to improved efficiency. Ultimately the job would be much easier to manage, and more affordable for the builder. He was right. The "one-stop shopping" approach was an instant success, and Greg's Mechanical, Inc. was in business.
Greg's Mechanical, Inc., which began as a one-man proprietorship, now employs over 100 people strong and continues to grow. In 2000, the name Greg's Mechanical, Inc. was changed to GMI First, Inc. "The name change," Sarangoulis said, "reflects the growth of the company and the inclusion of all our employees in accomplishing our goals. The GMI First, Inc. name has been a great success for the company. Our team has and continues to establish a great image in today's market place."
